Very decorative. Makes our walkway to our front door very pleasant to the eye...day and night. Gives off just enough light. I actually prefer these solar lights "bluish glow" to the bright "yellowish-white" non-solar lights. The lights stay lit from 6:30PM to about 3:00AM so far. One drawback is that they don't all light up at the same time...but within 10 minutes all are lit. I have been up late enough and have checked them to see if they are still on...and from 6:30Pm til 3:00AM (8 hours minimum) is great in my book. I imagine in the summer-time they will stay lit longer because there will be more sun and longer days. If you are looking for a super bright light then don't go solar. I compared my lights to my neighbors lights and I love mine way better and have received marks from my neighbors too...with a few asking about the cost and where I got them. A perfect glow that looks great viewing from the outside and from the inside. I was not sure at first because I have had electrical malibu lights previously...but these are really great.
